Secrets & Legends · Stories from the old web

There was always one more rumour.

A sealed wall. An impossible race. A triangle just out of reach. Revisit the legends that made Hyrule feel endless—and discover where the evidence leads.

Historical dossiers concern the original Nintendo 64 game. New imagery illustrates these stories; it does not confirm the rumours for Switch 2.

01Historical hoax

The Triforce we kept searching for

A hidden chamber. A final reward. Pictures that seemed to prove it. The story was irresistible—but what did the evidence actually show?

Reveal the verdict
Fabricated discovery

The famous hidden-Triforce discovery was a hoax supported by fabricated images. It is not a legitimate hidden quest in the released N64 game.

02Urban legend

Always one second too late

You cut every corner and cross the bridge faster than before. He is already there. What if the missing second was never yours to win?

Reveal the verdict
No normal-play victory

In the original game’s normal race, the Running Man reports finishing one second faster than your time. A better route does not unlock a victory reward.

The fountain behind the wall

An unfamiliar fountain in an early image became a destination that players hoped was still waiting behind a sealed wall.

Reveal the verdict
Pre-release image, unproven route

The fan-named Unicorn Fountain appears in pre-release material, but it is not a discoverable location in the completed original game. Claims about a hidden entrance or promised reward are a separate layer of rumour.

The sword that really does last

The Giant’s Knife and Biggoron’s Sword look related, but they are not interchangeable rewards.

Reveal how it works

Biggoron’s Sword is the reward for the optional adult trading sequence and does not break. Buying the Giant’s Knife is not required to complete that quest.

A tune that belongs to you

Not every useful song is handed to Link. One optional melody begins with the notes you choose.

Reveal how it works

Teach an eight-note tune to Bonooru at Lake Hylia as a child, then play it for him again as an adult. The Scarecrow’s Song can call Pierre at designated locations, creating a Hookshot target.
