Before you set out

Your journey, at your pace.

3DS: solo with two Doppels or three local players; no two-player campaign. Official online play ended in April 2024.

  • A totem's top hero uses items; its bottom hero moves.
  • Switch solo heroes deliberately.
  • Match costumes to stage hazards.

01

Woodlands

0 / 3 steps

Learn to work at three heights.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Deku Forest and Buzz Blob Cave: learn to throw teammates onto higher ledges and shoot raised targets from a totem. Keep the required item user at the top.

  2. Moblin Base: separate the heroes for switches and rebuild the totem after each crossing. Bring all three to the Triforce gateway.

  3. Forest Temple: shoot arrows through flames to light the torches. Bomb Margoma's opening, throw a hero onto the body and strike the eye; increase the totem's height as required.

A useful detail

Rearrange the totem when a different item must be on top.

02

Riverside

0 / 3 steps

Combine water pillars with the Gripshot.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Secret Fortress and Abyss of Agony: use Water Rod pillars as temporary stepping stones. Raise the correct hero before throwing them across the next gap.

  2. Cove of Transition: leave heroes on separate switches, open the route and reunite them in the correct order. Avoid stranding the only hero who can reach the remaining player.

  3. Water Temple: use the Gripshot to cross targets and retrieve teammates. Pull Arrghus's smaller eyes away, then use a tall Gripshot totem to reach its central eye.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Allow water pillars to settle before moving a full totem.

03

Volcano

0 / 3 steps

Cross moving platforms and minecart tracks.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Blazing Trail: use the Gust Jar to send teammates across gaps and the Boomerang to recover a hero left behind. Confirm a safe landing before throwing.

  2. Hinox Mine and Den of Flames: time attacks and switches from the moving carts. Return enemy bombs while keeping them away from the other heroes.

  3. Fire Temple: coordinate the timed switches before the boss. Attack Moldorm's tail, then increase the Bow user's height as its weak point rises.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Separate heroes before handling bombs near a crowded cart.

04

Ice Cavern

0 / 3 steps

Control slippery terrain.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Frozen Plateau and Snowball Ravine: use Fire Gloves to melt barriers and light torches. Let rolling snowballs block the icy vents before crossing.

  2. Silver Shrine and Ice Temple: use the Hammer on spring platforms and move the heroes in stages. A switch operator may need to join a moving platform last.

  3. Hammer Blizzagia's head until the shell breaks, then use sword attacks on the exposed jewel. Avoid following its body so closely that the turn catches every hero.

A useful detail

Cozy Parka helps with slippery ground.

05

Fortress

0 / 3 steps

Reach the Lady's lair.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Sealed Gateway: leave one hero at the necessary control while the others take the lift. Reunite only after the route stays open.

  2. Bomb Storage and Training Ground: redirect bombs toward their targets and use the correct totem height for switches. Spread out when explosives are active.

  3. The Lady's Lair: prepare for returning boss mechanics. Bomb Margoma, reach Moldorm's raised tail and remove Arrghus's protective eyes before striking its jewel.

Bring everyone to the exit.

06

The Dunes

0 / 3 steps

Retrieve another part of the Lady's outfit.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Infinity Dunes: use Water Rod columns and hammer-operated platforms to cross the sand. Leave a hero as a counterweight when the platform requires balance.

  2. Stone Corridors and Gibdo Mausoleum: solve the room before moving every hero away from the entrance. Burn Gibdo wrappings to make the enemies vulnerable.

  3. Desert Temple: strike Stalchampion from behind, use the Hammer on the exposed heart and build a tall Boomerang totem for the final head phase.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Leave one hero as a counterweight when balancing a platform.

07

The Ruins

0 / 3 steps

Read colors in the dark.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Illusory Mansion and Palace Noir: keep torches lit where darkness hides enemies or routes. Position a second hero safely before advancing with the active one.

  2. Lone Labyrinth: match each hero to the coloured paths. A full totem is not always the correct way through a colour-specific obstacle.

  3. Grim Temple: free trapped teammates promptly. Strike Prismantus's orbs with the matching heroes, then throw a hero onto the exposed body to attack the eye.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Color-matched platforms require the appropriate hero, even when the destination looks close.

08

Sky Realm and Lady Maud

0 / 3 steps

Break Princess Styla's curse.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Floating Garden, Deception Castle and Dragon Citadel: combine throws, totem height and the available tools. Check where every hero will finish a platform sequence before starting it.

  2. Sky Temple: prepare for a gauntlet and recover health when available. Maud removes your items, so the final fight depends on swords, positioning and totems.

  3. Throw heroes across Maud's barrier, return her energy ball and climb the colour-matched parasols. Collect the final outfit material and return to Hytopia to finish Styla's rescue.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Stay spread out when a colored lightning marker singles out one hero.

Challenges, outfits and the Den of Trials

  1. Complete each normal stage before tackling its challenge variants. Choose an outfit that addresses the specific restriction, such as terrain, item range or survival.

  2. Check the material rewards before replaying a stage for an outfit. Normal clears, challenge clears and crafted outfits are separate collection goals.

  3. Enter the Den of Trials after its update content is available. Clear each enemy wave before advancing, conserve recovery resources and treat the trial as an endurance challenge separate from Maud's campaign.
