Before you set out

Your journey, at your pace.

Original 2001 Game Boy Color quest. This is a standalone start; linked play changes some events and adds the shared finale.

  • Note your era before following an overworld clue.
  • Keep a supply of Mystery Seeds for possession battles.
  • The Harp's successive tunes expand where you can travel.

01

Spirit's Grave

0 / 3 steps

Save the Maku Tree's future.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. After Veran possesses Nayru, take the sword and follow the Maku Tree's disappearance into the past. Rescue the young tree, then return to the present for the graveyard route.

  2. In Spirit's Grave, light torches and investigate movable blocks. The Power Bracelet opens routes through pots that could not be lifted earlier.

  3. Destroy Pumpkin Head's body, lift its pumpkin and throw it away. Strike the small spirit before it can recover its protection.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Lift pots and test movable blocks.

02

Wing Dungeon

0 / 3 steps

Obtain Roc's Feather.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Take the Harp of Ages from Nayru's house. When the present-day entrance collapses, use time travel to reach Wing Dungeon in the past.

  2. Obtain Roc's Feather and use it for side-view passages and gaps. For coloured-floor puzzles, plan a route that reaches every required tile without trapping the moving marker.

  3. Throw bombs into Head Thwomp's open top from the platform above. The resulting face determines its response; keep moving and repeat until the damaging red result defeats it.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

The past entrance replaces a blocked present route.

03

Crescent Island and Moonlit Grotto

0 / 3 steps

Recover your equipment and Seed Shooter.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. After the shipwreck, recover the stolen equipment through the Tokay exchanges. Plant the Scent Seedling in the past so its tree exists in the present.

  2. In Moonlit Grotto, break the crystals controlling the central route and retrieve the Seed Shooter. Aim diagonally when a direct shot cannot reach a switch.

  3. Shadow Hag retreats when watched. Turn away, then bounce a seed off a wall so it hits her as she approaches from behind.

Chapter references

Checkpoints

A useful detail

A seed can reach a target you cannot face directly.

04

Skull Dungeon

0 / 3 steps

Learn the Switch Hook.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Complete the Symmetry City restoration and use the Harp's expanded time travel to reach the highlands. Changes made in the past alter the route in the present.

  2. Collect the Switch Hook and exchange positions with pots or diamond-shaped objects. Preserve a useful object on each side of a gap so you can return.

  3. Plan the long floor-colouring puzzle before stepping off its starting tile. Against Eyesoar, hook the central eye out of its escort and strike it while stunned.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Check the landing tile before swapping.

05

Rolling Ridge and Crown Dungeon

0 / 3 steps

Obtain the Cane of Somaria.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Bring a Bomb Flower to free the Goron Elder. Follow the ridge passages and pay attention to which entrances belong to each era.

  2. The Cane of Somaria creates a block for pressure switches and path puzzles. Place it before crossing a route that depends on a switch staying pressed.

  3. Smog's fragments follow obstacles. Add or remove a cane block to redirect them into one another, then strike the reassembled cloud and repeat for the next pattern.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

One created block can replace an object you cannot carry.

06

Mermaid's Cave

0 / 3 steps

Complete one dungeon across two eras.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Complete the Goron trading, dancing and minigame chain to obtain the keys for both eras. Mermaid's Cave is one progression spread across two versions of the dungeon.

  2. Open the necessary route in the past, then revisit the present. Once you have the Mermaid Suit, dive into deep-water rooms and check underwater exits.

  3. Use the Seed Shooter against the small mouth on Octogon's red side. When it dives, follow underwater and attack with the sword; return to the platform when it resurfaces.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Underwater movement differs from ordinary swimming.

07

Nayru and Jabu-Jabu

0 / 3 steps

Expand time travel and upgrade the Hook.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Enter Ambi's Palace while she is away. Use Mystery Seeds on the possessed Nayru, pull Veran away with the Switch Hook and strike Veran rather than Nayru.

  2. With the Tune of Ages, help King Zora and resolve the polluted sea. Enter Jabu-Jabu and use the water-level switches to expose different floors.

  3. Upgrade to the Long Hook and revisit long gaps. Against Plasmarine, wait for its projectile, then swap positions so the boss changes colour and is struck by the opposite-coloured shot.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Remember which floors become accessible at each water level.

08

Ancient Tomb

0 / 3 steps

Collect the last Essence.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Use the Zora Scale to reach the pirate route and obtain the information needed for the Sea of No Return. The tomb's entrance belongs to the past.

  2. Find the Power Glove and collect four slates. Fit them into the central route to open the deeper chambers instead of hunting for an ordinary boss key alone.

  3. Ramrock changes tools with each phase: return its fists, put bombs in its cupped hands, ricochet seeds behind its shields, then pull back a ball with the Power Glove and release it.

Chapter references

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Ramrock changes the required tool between phases.

09

The Black Tower

0 / 3 steps

Free Labrynna.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Take the Huge Maku Seed after collecting all eight Essences. Enter the Black Tower in the past and follow the visual maze clues to its upper rooms.

  2. Separate Veran from Ambi with Mystery Seeds and the Long Hook, then strike the exposed spirit. Defeat the flying phase while keeping clear of the mirror-moving shadows.

  3. In the final transformations, bomb the spider to expose its face, evade the jumping armoured form and attack its exposed head, and strike the bee form when it approaches.

A linked second adventure unlocks Twinrova and Ganon beyond the standalone ending.

Collection field guide

Plan your final discoveries.

Use these routes alongside the edition-specific counters. The references link to individual locations and additional maps.

Linked ending and secret exchanges

  1. Complete one Oracle first and start the other with its ending secret. Record each additional secret with the name of its recipient; return the reward password through Farore where required.

  2. After the linked story's extra rescue events and final dungeon, continue to the Room of Rites. Reflect the witches' magic toward the opposite sister, then use the elemental seeds and sword openings against the combined form.

  3. The final Ganon encounter follows the witches. Watch the teleport pattern, move away from the trident's range and use charged sword attacks when he reappears. The linked ending is distinct from defeating Veran alone.

Hearts, rings and the trading journey

  1. Search both eras for heart rewards and return with the shovel, swimming equipment and upgraded hook. Record which era a location belongs to.

  2. Appraise rings at Vasu's shop and equip them deliberately; owning a ring does not activate its effect. Some rings depend on linked play or specific hardware and cannot all be obtained in one ordinary standalone file.

  3. Plant Gasha Seeds in documented soft-soil spots and return after further adventuring. Keep random ring and heart rewards separate from fixed-location pickups when tracking what remains.
