01

Whereabouts of the Wind

0 / 3 steps

Rescue the first maiden.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Lake Hylia: use Wide formation to push broad blocks and Box formation for square switches. Gather Force Gems from the side caves before reaching the barrier.

  2. Cave of No Return: inspect the supplied items and use the appropriate formation for grouped targets. Keep track of cave exits that return to a different outdoor position.

  3. Hyrule Castle: restore the sword's power with enough Force Gems, then clear the eye barriers. Return Phantom Ganon's energy volley and strike during the resulting stun.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Revisit missed gem rooms if your sword lacks power.

02

Eastern Hyrule

0 / 3 steps

Follow the coastal investigation.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. The Coast: carry Moon Pearls to the matching portals and compare the two versions of a blocked route. A dangerous passage can be safer on the other side.

  2. Village of the Blue Maiden: follow the residents' conversations and exchanges. Revisit the relevant houses after obtaining each requested item.

  3. Eastern Temple: use Moon Gates to bypass hazards, the Bow for red-eye targets and the Lamp for torches. Exchange tools when needed rather than expecting one item to solve the entire stage.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

A blocked path can have a usable counterpart across a Moon Gate.

03

Death Mountain

0 / 3 steps

Climb to the Tower of Flames.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Death Mountain Foothills: arrange the Links to cover grouped switches, then inspect the opened paths for the stage's equipment.

  2. The Mountain Path: collect the Hammer and use it on the obstacles designed for it. Separate the Links when a narrow route or distant control requires individual movement.

  3. Tower of Flames: climb through its indoor and outdoor passages. Against the Helmaroc King, break the helmet with the Hammer before attacking the exposed head.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Retrieve a new item when the stage changes.

04

Near the Fields

0 / 3 steps

Infiltrate Hyrule Castle.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. The Field: cut grass to reveal the four switches and use the group to lift large logs. Recheck side areas once the main path opens.

  2. The Swamp: take Dampé's Power Bracelet and use it to move heavy obstacles. Carry the necessary object through the route before switching away from the tool that handles it.

  3. Infiltration of Hyrule Castle: avoid the searchlights and bring the Lamp to Jalhalla. Light the four torches, attack during the opening and finish the smaller enemy revealed inside.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Cross formation can activate four nearby targets.

05

The Dark World

0 / 3 steps

Reach the Temple of Darkness.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Lost Woods: compare signs and paths between worlds and use the Lamp for dark passages. Mark portal positions to avoid repeating the same loop.

  2. Kakariko Village: search houses, back entrances, bushes and underground rooms for all ten thieves, then carry them to the pen.

  3. Temple of Darkness: coordinate switches across the connected worlds. Return Phantom Ganon's real energy volley instead of chasing every image.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Keep track of which world contains the open passage.

06

The Desert of Doubt

0 / 3 steps

Uncover the desert's route.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Desert of Doubt: speak with the Gerudo elder and guard, then read the wind clue before entering the maze. Follow the instructed direction relative to the wind.

  2. Desert Temple: inspect the branches for tools and keys before returning to its central obstacles. Keep enough Force Gems to empower the final barrier-breaking attack.

  3. The Pyramid: use the Link whose colour matches Big Moldorm's tail. Continue matching colours after the boss divides.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Watch the current wind direction at each maze screen.

07

Frozen Hyrule

0 / 3 steps

Climb the Tower of Winds.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Frozen Hyrule: bomb the concealed cave entrances and pull their levers to open the climb. Control movement carefully during the ice-covered fights.

  2. The Ice Temple: leave a statue on a switch that must stay pressed, and use Cross formation for the grouped floor switches. Inspect loose pots before assuming a room has no mechanism.

  3. Tower of Winds: climb the side-view rooms and coordinate separate platforms. Defeat the tower's guardian and complete Zelda's rescue before moving to the sky region.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Allow extra stopping distance on ice.

08

Realm of the Heavens

0 / 3 steps

Confront Vaati.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Realm of the Heavens: study platform movement before committing the formation to a jump or narrow crossing. Recover isolated Links before moving to the next screen.

  2. The Dark Cloud: complete the Shadow Link encounters and recover the Dark Mirror. Match the required colours when enemies stop responding to another Link.

  3. Palace of Winds: use bombs on Vaati's tornado. In the later phase, launch above him, pass through the opening with a downward attack and strike from beneath the arena.

A useful detail

Regroup before using a cannon.

09

The escape and Ganon

0 / 3 steps

Seal the final threat.

Route and puzzle solutions

  1. Escape with Zelda after defeating Vaati; the adventure still has a final confrontation. Keep the group together through the collapsing route.

  2. Avoid Ganon's trident and clear the enemies when transported to the Dark World. Return to attack during his recovery windows.

  3. Protect Zelda while she prepares the light orb. Return the incoming projectiles, then shoot an arrow through her orb toward Ganon.

Checkpoints

A useful detail

Use wide formation for sword coverage without standing in the trident's path.

Use these routes alongside the edition-specific counters. The references link to individual locations and additional maps.

Stage completion and optional rewards

  1. Aim to collect at least 2,000 Force Gems in each stage so the Four Sword can break its ending barriers. If short, explore the unopened side routes instead of repeatedly striking the barrier.

  2. Collect Heart Containers and protective upgrades for the current stage, remembering that these do not form a permanent twenty-heart inventory across the campaign.

  3. Treat Tingle's Tower activities and other multiplayer modes separately from the twenty-four story stages. Their availability depends on the mode and player setup.
